This is me

Hi everyone!

My name is Emanuela.

I'm an Italian girl born in November 1991 and living in a small town, in province of Monza Brianza.

During my academic career I grew fond of foreign languages and cultures developing a deep passion for two languages in particular: English and German. I've studied these idioms, together with Spanish, in high school first and then I chose the faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bergamo, where I graduated in June 2014, with thesis in English translation. Here I combined my deep passion for languages and cultures and my interest centered about cinema and TV shows: I compared the original dialogues in English of a TV show with the translated ones which were later used for dubbing into Italian, in order to see how the dialogues had been translated, whether and where there were differences, and why some choices in translation had been made in the process.

Late 2014, I worked as a teacher in an engineering firm where I held courses of English, both individual and groups and a German course. Here I also translated technical documents and ISO procedures.
2015-2016 I worked as technical translator and simultaneous interpreter in another engineering firm. Special focus on technical Specification, work instructions, IATF 16949 procedures, components lists, PFMEA, from English to Italian, vice versa and from German to Italian.
2016-2018, I also worked in the Purchasing department of the same firm.

Spring 2019 I collaborated with another firm as technical operator for the writing, review and layout of technical manuals in English language, where I gained awareness of technical literature, information gathering and actual transformation into text for the user.

August 2019 I started working as Executive Project Assistant in the Oil&Gas firm Fives ITAS.

In May 2021 I was awarded a Master Degree in Specialized Translation in the linguistic combinations EN>IT and IT>EN in the following sectors: legal, medical and tourism.

I am deeply in love with foreign languages, especially English, with all its varieties spread all over the world. And I also love the art of translation (both the process and the result), the act of rendering a word, a sentence, an idea, a concept from a language into another. That's why I would love to keep doing this job and hopefully will find a suitable place for me in the world of work.

My dream is to visit and see as much world, as many places all over the world as possible.

I am very passionate in what I do, in my job, I take it very seriously and I do not actually believe it is possible to do something right, accurate, well and thorough without being really enthusiastic about it and I am always willing to learn and try new things and experiences.
